I just ate the perfect mango.
Warmed by my window sill and cut in that flipped out-cubed way (which is my favorite) I'm standing over my sink with the juice running down my fingers. Eating cube by cube until all I'm left with is the leathery skin. Which I still try to scrape off any remaining deliciousness. Cutting off the remaining skin around the pit, I attempt to hold the slippery fruit while gnawing on the last bits that get more sour the closer I get to the seed.
Except now I have a few stringy bits that are determined to never leave the in-betweens of my teeth.
