life is better on wheels

Today I let go of my previous inhibitions of Europe and had a blast exploring The Hague by bike with Sarah, David, and Caitlin (there always seems to be at least one other Caitlin in any group!) This will come as a complete un-surprise to you, Dad, but you would absolutly love this place. Nice people, beautiful weather, and super comfy bikes. There are nice wide bike paths all through out the city and neighboring towns, even crosswalk lights for bikers. We ended up biking fown to the North Sea beach, having lunch at McDonalds on the water (sticker shock has quickley driven us to the cheapest places to eat) and then biked through parks and back into the city to our hostel.

Fun fact: while attempting to ride and videotape at the same time, a woman tried to pass me. Not being perfectly balanced steering with one hand, I kind of skid and saw myself about to crash into a parked, brand-new PORCHE! Due to my quick reflexes and my instant desire to sacrifice my body instead of paying for damages, or worse yet-riding off, getting caught, and spending my days in a Dutch jail, I did a sort of barrel roll slash tumble off my bike and avoid any damage to the horrifyingly expensive, shiney black car inches from me. Video posts soon to come!
